Contribute to the Programme

The deadline for sending in programme proposals has passed. This page is made available for information only.

If you would have been involved in a groundbreaking project, or you have a compelling contribution to make to policy, then we would very much like to hear from you.

Please remember that Creative Clusters is a conference for practitioners, it is not an academic or a public relations event. In the case-study sessions we encourage you to share experience, discoveries, successes and frustrations with your peer group. The tone we are looking for is well- informed, supportive, not too formal, free of hype and spin. We do not expect presenters to have all the answers, but we would like you to have interesting stories to tell.

The policy sessions we expect to be more spicy, with presentations priming the pump, and then open debate taking up at least half the session time. We would like speakers to cut to the chase of some of the key issues facing the sector, in a constructive and practical spirit. We are looking for strong, clear points of view, concisely stated.

Your Proposal

Your proposal is the beginning of a dialogue with us. If your suggestions strike a chord, fit with other proposals, and engage with the topics delegates have told us they are interested in, then we will get back to you to discuss your contribution. Please do not think you've got to get it right first time - there is no formal review or scoring process.

Please use the form here to send us your proposal, even if it's incomplete and you'd like some feedback before you finish it. We'll send you back a PIN number and you will be able to change or add to it.

Case Study

Please read at the programme policy carefully. The key points are:

» Case studies should be experience or evidence- based. Ideally we are looking for projects that have been completed and which may not have been formally, independently, assessed, but at least have been monitored and reviewed. You should be prepared to be open about what did not work as well as about what was successful.

» Case studies should be orientated towards the professional development of the target group of delegates . Projects should be (in part at least) replicable, and your presentation should aim to convey how your project has been executed (as well as what it is and why you did it). We encourage you to provide supporting documentation that delegates can remodel and re-use in their own projects.

Policy Discussions

All players and stakeholders in the field of creative industry development are invited to present short policy papers that will provoke and inform discussion of issues relevant to the target group of delegates . Please read the programme policy guidelines, and also the Burning Issues section of the site for an indication of the conference agenda (but do not feel restricted by it).

Benefits to Speakers

The principal benefit to conference speakers is the visibility and attention that participation in Creative Clusters will bring to their projects, and the opportunity to learn and network with colleagues that the conference presents.

We will support you in this by publicising your project on the Creative Clusters website, by giving contact information for any consultancy or other services you may offer, and by giving you a free pass to the conference. This is the standard pass as described in the conference programme, which includes all core programme events, the opening reception, two lunches and the conference party. Speakers who wish to attend other events should use the normal booking procedure.

If you work freelance or for a low-income organisation, we will also consider contributing to your accommodation and travel expenses. Please tell us when you send in your proposal whether you would need this assistance.

Language The conference language is English. We regret that translation will not be available.

Timetable and deadline The closing date for proposals is Friday 23rd August, but we will read your proposal and may get back to you before then. We aim to publish the first draft of the programme in the middle of September.

Submission of Proposals Send a proposal now .
This is the only way to submit proposals. Please do not send us proposals by fax, email or post. If you are making more than one proposal, please send them separately. Please keep a copy of your proposal in case of faulty transmission.

Copyright Presentations are submitted on the understanding that the proposer has permission to use the material (including any figures or illustrations) at the conference, and grants Creative Clusters Ltd. a non-exclusive right to reproduce the material in the delegates handbook and on the conference website.
